Decarbonisation of the transport sector is a key part of the transition to a low- or zero-emission society. Norway is a leading country when it comes to electrification of the car fleet, but still has a long way to go to achieve a 50% reduction in emissions by 2030.
Based on the report by EASAC (European Academies ‘Science Advisory Council) “Decarbonisation of transport: options and challenges” Det Norske Videnskaps-Akademi held a webinar on 9. September, addressing important issues related to the requirements for new technology and infrastructure for fuel and charging, as well as the need for a long-term and consistent policy to promote low- and zero-emission transport.
